Mission Statement
The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum (TVRM) preserves and operates railroad artifacts to educate the public about the role of railroads in the history and development of the region.
About TVRM
Founded in 1961 by a group of local residents in Chattanooga, TVRM preserves steam engines, passenger cars, and other railroad history. The museum operates on the historic East Tennessee, Virginia, and Georgia railroad, including the Missionary Ridge Tunnel, built in 1858. TVRM educates visitors on the importance of railroads in shaping the modern world.
